The Tebhaga (sharing by thirds) movement in 1946-1947, is a very significant movement of sharecroppers in the history of Bengal that helped to launch Bargadari Act, which provided that the share of the harvest given to the landlords would be limited to one third of the total.

However, the theme of the current Janosamobai bulletin (issue 7) is “Tebhaga movement”; and—the topics of this issue include: Tebhaga movement - inception to Bargadai Act; Floating Gardens- an innovative approach to cultivate crops on floating beds set up at water bodies; activities of ALRD and its partner organizations; Khana's Bachan (Khana’s verses) associated with agriculture; and reader’s opinion.
