ALRDs 21st AGM Held

The 21st Annual General Meeting of the Association for Land Reform and Development (ALRD) was held on 5 October, 2013 at ALRD’s Auditorium in the city with Ms Khushi Kabir in the Chair.

AGM 2013ALRD has been operating as the only National Networking and Advocacy Organization of the NGOs on land and water rights over the last 22 years. A number of policy advocacy issues especially related to restoring legal ownership of the minorities over their ancestral properties known as vested property, indigenous people’s land rights, and rural women’s rights to land has been consistently promoted by ALRD and its partner’s.

Mr. Shamsul Huda, Executive Director and Member Secretary of the organization, presented the annual activities report for the period from July 2012-June 2013 in the AGM. The Audited Financial Report was presented by the Treasurer Mr. A Milon Khan. The Treasurer also made a presentation on the budget for the next year of the organization. The members actively took part in the discussion. Finally the annual activity report, the audit report and the budget was approved unanimously by the members.

The AGM ended with the election of the Executive Committee of ALRD for next two years from 2013 to 2015. Ms Khushi Kabir was reelected as Chairperson. Milon Khan (Treasurer); Dr. Abul Barkat (member); Ms Afzalun Nessa Chowdhury (member); Professor Dr. Sadeka Halim (member); Mr. Shabbir Ahmed Chowdhury (member); Raja Devashish Roy (member); Mr. Shah-I-Mobin Jinnah (member); Ms Monika Siddiquee (member); Professor Rowshan Ara (member); Mr. Md. Taslim Uddin (member); Mr. Md. Rafiqul Alam (member); Mr. Quazi Shamsul Alam (member) and Mr. Shamsul Huda (Member-Secretary ex-officio).
